Bookclub – The Power Of A Praying Wife
I love reading, it is something I have come to love more and more every year. I read anything from a romantic novel to a Biblical teaching to a motivational growth book. I have red so many books this year that I am sure I can’t even remember the first one I red. Point is, it is something that feeds my soul, it makes me happy and complete.
The Power Of A Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
It wasn’t the first time I red this book, it was more like my third maybe even fourth time. You probably think I’m silly but it’s a good book to read every five to ten years, just to refresh the memory and bring you and me back to basics on a Biblical note as a wife. You can even read this book before you tie the knot, I did and I am glad I did. This book teaches us as wives where and how to focus our prayer life towards our husbands and marriages. Prayer is one of the most important forces to protect ourselves, our marriages, children, families and future. I have decided to share a couple of things in this book with you and hopefully convince you to get this book for yourself and invest into your marriage.
Chapter 2 – His Work
In this chapter she explains the different types of working husbands. Those that work too little and those that work too much. She teaches about a man’s identity and explains why men work the way they do (Or don’t). She tells us that their work is the one thing that makes or breaks them. Each husband needs a sense of purpose and his work gives it to him.
Ecclesiastes 3:13 – …that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
It is good to learn how to pray for our husbands and so learn to also pray for our sons and their future just like we pray for our husbands. Prayer can change your husbands entire future, his self esteem and so you can help him from behind the scenes move into a direction of God’s will. We can pray for guidance, protection and prosperity.
This book can help you understand how important it is to pray for your husband and how important it is to do this even in times where it seems like it isn’t making a difference. My husband always says he goes out every day to do the possible while he knows God is busy with the impossible. This book is the perfect guide to prayer in every area your husband needs.
