I am thankful November, I have friends.
I am thankful for my friends.
I’d like to think of myself as a loyal friend, but as all woman I am sure, we all have our “catty moments” and if I can call it our “enemies.” The kind of relationships where you won’t share a table. I have those too. Today I’m not getting into that, I’m writing about being thankful.
I am thankful for the bunch of friends I have in my town and far away. It’s not one big group, I have one group of friends and the others are all individual relationship. I believe in keeping things simple and real, too many friends doesn’t work for me. So the couple that I have I am truly grateful for.
I spent two hours this morning with two of my “besties” and although we only had two hours before we had to fetch the kids, it was awesome. I try make time once a week to get to at least one friend but unfortunately being a SAHM and now a small business owner, thats not always possible. I cherish these moments and I want all these special ladies in my life to know how much they mean to me.
When you become a mom, things change. With me, everything changed. Motherhood changed me in a way that I did everything differentl, my thoughts about life changed. Even my dreams changed, so after being a mom for only sixteen months my entire world fell apart and I basically quit my circle of friends. For such a long time, I remember only having a couple (like 3 or 4) good friends in other towns. I don’t regret it though, I had one or two friends here at home, but it was my time. My time to find myself again and to analise what I want and where I’m going. Eventually with todds in the house I met other moms with the same age kids and so my new journey started. It was good.
It’s almost like God took me and placed me in a sanctuary for a year, where I only had my kids and my husband. I am thankful that I could make that decition for myself when I did, and I am thankful to everything God showed me in that year. Little things about myself. Important things.
Through out the last couple of years I have met real gems and they continue to fill me with everything good, always offering so much support, love and friendship. We need to look after each other, we need to take care of each other and we need to support each other.
Barry is my everything but heavens forbid, there’s just certain things guys don’t get 🙂 and for that I need my girls.
Proverbs 27:17 – As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Friendship is a two way thing, it should bring you joy and peace, it should uplift you when you are down and it should carry you when you can’t walk. If that’s not what you are getting, then it’s best to walk away and search for what God has waiting for you.
