Ready, Set, Fashion
Fashion Is A Lifestyle
Fashion isn’t just what you wear. It’s who you are, how you represent yourself. It’s what you think of yourself, what you think you deserve. Fashion is a lifestyle.
The Budget
You can mark your own lifestyle / fashion budget to fit your pocket. It’s exactly the same as your monthly grocery budget. Manage your income. When we shop groceries we only add what we allow for in the budget but with some sense of freedom. Fashion and lifestyle works exactly the same. Stick to your own boundaries and you are ready to go.
With that said we all agree that you have the freedom to spend as much as you allow yourself according to your personal budget. There’s a reason I am sharing this with you. You don’t need a Louis Vuitton bag, or the most expensive Tom Ford sunglasses. You can still be in fashion and get what you like but in a way that you don’t spend a years work for one bag. I mean if it’s what you want then you can save for a year or two, but you don’t have to spend the big bucks to feel like you are in fashion.
Your Style
I have learnt over the years, especially as I am getting older that I have my own style. I buy magazines but I don’t dress exactly the way the magazines tell me to dress. I am old enough to know what works for me and what doesn’t. My theory is, if I am not comfortable I don’t want it. I totally dress for comfort first. With that said I also have days where I don’t feel like dressing up and then I don’t.
I also dress according to my lifestyle, I don’t have a corporate job so I don’t dress corporate. I am more your jeans and T-shirt kind of mom, but some days very very rarely I’ll make an effort to take things a bit further and dress up a little more formal.
It’s this lifestyle that urged me to create my own fashion brand that represents me and my style. Being the owner, designer and brand ambassador for my own brand has been empowering and really gave me space to create exactly what I like to wear.
When I share styles make your pick to fit your lifestyle. Make your pick according to your style and pieces that makes you feel comfortable in your own skin.
Own It
I’ll be sharing a couple of #coolmom stuff that has made me feel more fashionable, but more importantly works for me either because it’s also practical but pretty.
Remember it’s not just about what you wear, but how you wear it.
The Guidelines
- The first thing you put on every morning is confidence.
- Know yourself enough to know what you like and dislike.
- Stick to your budget.
- Know yourself well enough to know your own style.
- Find that piece (clothing, accessories or shoes) and a good price and make the purchase or wait for it while you save.
- Wear it like you own it.
The Future
I am not only going to write about fashion, I am just adding this to my blog because it’s something I enjoy and have a passion for.
Be sure to follow my social media pages where I share a lot of small tips and make you aware of some awesome sales.
Remember just because you are a mom, doesn’t mean you have to let yourself go. This happens to most of us and it is okay. But it has to stop at some point, we have to regain power, confidence and find a way to discover ourselves again. Take pride in who you are, take pride in your body. Be that mom who teaches her kids about confidence in all aspects. Remember kids learn from example.
